Director Destin Daniel Cretton has been tasked with assembling the Avengers once again.
Marvel announced two new Avengers movies set for release in 2025 during their panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con over the weekend: “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” which is scheduled for May 2, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on Nov. 7.
On Tuesday, the “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” director was reported by The Hollywood Reporter to helm the upcoming movie.
In 2019, “Avengers: Endgame,” followed by “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” concluded The Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which refers to its first 23 films that center on Thanos and the infinity stones. But the lineup of superhero films and TV shows from that point on has given viewers a lot to look forward to in the next big get-together.

Destin Daniel Cretton directed “Shang-Chi,” which centered on the MCU’s first Asian superhero and grossed $432 million worldwide after its premiere in 2021. Cretton has since been signed on by Marvel to direct its sequel and another series about Wonder Man.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also said at this year’s Comic-Con panel that this current saga, introduced as the “Multiverse Saga,” comprises Phases 4, 5 and 6. The franchise is currently somewhere in the middle of the saga, which started with the Disney Plus series “Wandavision” last year. “The Kang Dynasty” and “Secret Wars” will close out Phase 6.
Little has been revealed about the plot for either film, but Jonathan Majors already made his debut as Kang, the villainous ruler of the multiverse, in Disney Plus’ “Loki.” Majors will also be reprising the role for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which is currently scheduled to kick off Marvel’s Phase 5 on Feb. 17, 2023.
