Almost 300 Chinese women showed up to a dating competition in Chengdu, China to be one of the lucky 21 finalists that will score a date with a Dubai millionaire and presumably live happier ever richer, according to Shanghaiist.
Chinese dating company Meimeng hosted the event where over 2,000 women signed up online to be matched with a boyfriend in Dubai with a minimum net worth of $7.6 million.
Candidates were between the ages of 19 and 48 and included professions like school teachers, yoga instructors, graduate students and beauty pageant models.
The 2,000 women who signed up were reduced to 280 after three rounds of assessment on their physical appearance, professional skills and past relationships. Women whose WeChat profiles showed them flaunting their own wealth were reportedly ruled out of the competition.
The “lucky” 21 finalists will travel to Dubai together in June to actually meet the millionaire they believe they will be dating.
