A 23-year-old woman in eastern China has gone viral on social media after bringing herself to the hospital clutching a snake that bit her.
In photos that emerged this week, the woman in Jinhua, Zhejiang province can be seen signing forms in the emergency room with the snake wrapped around her left hand.
The woman was bitten when she picked up her phone that she accidentally dropped near a bush, according to The Paper.
Fortunately, the snake, which measured 1.5 meters (4.92 feet) long, was non-venomous and only inflicted a minor wound.
“From filling out the forms to getting a shot, she held onto the snake during the whole visit. She finally left with it,” said Wang, a physician at the ER.
“She said she will set it free.”
Footage of the woman walking into the emergency room also made rounds online.
People praised the woman for staying calm and managing to contain the reptile in a water bottle.
“This girl is too good.”
“Very rational, careful, bold, and loving.”
“The key is to remember that when you are bitten by a snake, you must remember the way the snake looks.”
“That snake is no joke. This girl is powerful.”
“I really admire her courage!”
