A Chinese couple visiting Nagoya, Japan has been made to apologise after taking a toilet seat from their hotel room.
The tourists from Zhejiang Province found a spare toilet seat underneath their bed on Monday, according to Yong Pai (via SCMP).
When the couple’s tour group left Nagoya, hotel staff discovered that a toilet seat was missing and contacted the tourist’s travel agency demanding that it be returned.
When the tour group arrived at their next destination, Mt. Fuji, they sent the toilet seat back to the hotel,
According to an apology published online by the couple, they took the toilet seat because they thought a previous hotel guest had left it. A part of the statement read:
“I offer my sincere apology and regrets I hope the hotel and the local travel agency can treat this with leniency. I promise this improper behaviour won’t happen again.”
The couple also promised to apologise to the hotel that they will be staying at on the last day of their trip, which belongs in the same chain as the hotel they previously stayed at.
