Chinese Nurses Save Newborn Girl Abandoned in a Toilet

By Carl Samson
A newborn girl abandoned in a toilet bowl in a hospital in northeastern China was rescued by nurses.
In a video reportedly shot on Sunday, nurses at the Tianjin Third Central Hospital can be seen rushing toward a stall in a women’s restroom to retrieve the baby from the toilet bowl.
One of the nurses brings the newborn to a flat surface by the washbasins and wraps a towel around her to keep her warm.

She also yells, “Don’t let her go!” presumably referring to preventing the baby’s mother from leaving the premises.

The baby was reportedly discovered by witnesses who heard “loud” cries from the cubicle.

Nurses managed to stop the newborn’s young mother from fleeing the hospital.

They learned that she got pregnant out of wedlock and that her family had no idea, according to East Day.

It’s unclear whether the unidentified mother, who has been turned in to authorities, will face repercussions for her actions. The investigation is still ongoing.
