Chinese Netizens Embarrassed After Locals Fight Over Free Products at Company Giveaway

Sometimes, generosity needs more caution than selfishness.

That’s exactly what a company in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, had to learn as they tried to give away some goods to the public.

As seen in a video, local aunties and uncles couldn’t care less about the charitable act as they tried to grab any freebie they could. Some even appeared to fight over the free goods.

According to Shanghaiist, several chengguan officers arrived later to control the mania, but could only do little.

The aunties and uncles naturally emerged victorious in the end.

The video has since gone viral on Chinese social media, with many netizens feeling ashamed. However, some expressed understanding of their behavior:

“Poor!”

“This is really shameful.”

“They grew up in a time when they had very little, so don’t blame them.”
