Chinese exchange student in Utah requests cheeseburger after rescue from ‘cyber-kidnapping’

Chinese exchange student Kai Zhuang asked for a cheeseburger after he was found in a mountain tent in the wilderness by Utah police after falling victim to a “cyber-kidnapping.”
Reported missing: Zhuang, 17, was reported missing on Thursday by his high school in Riverdale after his parents in China had contacted the school. Zhuang’s parents had received a ransom photo of their son and had sent $80,000 to bank accounts in China “due to continuous threats from the kidnappers,” according to a press release.
Police finds Zhuang: On Sunday, police were able to locate the missing teenager using bank and phone records. They reportedly found him “alive but very cold and scared” in a tent. Helicopter footage of the rescue shows Zhuang isolated in the mountains about 25 miles north of Brigham City, as instructed by the cyber-kidnappers.
According to authorities, Zhuang “had no heat source inside the tent, only a heat blanket, a sleeping bag, limited food and water and several phones that were presumed to be used to carry out the cyber kidnapping.” After being rescued, he was checked for health issues by the fire department, and he requested for a “warm cheeseburger” and to speak with his family.
