A popular actress in Taiwan has won hearts online for her age-defying beauty at age 63, proving yet again that “Asian don’t raisin.”
Chen Meifen has been gaining fans around the world as images of her youthful appearance continue to be widely shared on social media. Her fans online have named her Taiwan’s most beautiful “Obasan,” which is a Japanese term for auntie.
Meifen recently captured more admirers after her pre-recorded dance routine for a Lunar New Year TV special emerged online, Yahoo reports.
An established local celebrity today, Meifen entered the limelight 45 years ago in Taiwan as a teenage beauty queen. In 1975, Meifeng won the Knitwear Beauty Queen crown at age 19.
When she turned 60 in 2016, she revealed in local interviews that she wanted to change the perception of how women age.
“Who says obasans must look dowdy and ugly? We can choose to be beautiful obasans. Nobody can defy the ageing process, but we can grow beautiful as we age,” she was quoted as saying.
Meifen continues to captivate her social media followers on Facebook
, where she has over 500,000 page likes, and on Instagram
, where she now has more than 83,000 followers.
Asked how she has maintained her flawless skin and eye-catching physique, she attributed most of it to a heavy diet of “ginger and soup” and regular workouts.
Meifen also revealed that she is single and waiting for the right person.
