Among the many who have expressed sorrow over the passing of actor Chadwick Boseman is his stylist, Ashley Weston, who gave the star a heartfelt tribute.
Boseman was 43 when he died at his home on Friday, following a years-long battle with colon cancer.
Grieving friend: Ashley Weston, a 33-year-old French Vietnamese stylist who has been working with Boseman for years, took to social media to remember the “Black Panther” actor who she considered her big brother.
  • In an Instagram post on Saturday, Weston shared some photos of her spending time with Boseman.
  • She wrote in the caption: “My big brother. My King. I can still see your beautiful smile and hear your infectious laugh. You stood beside me during some of the biggest moments of my life: When I got married, when loved ones passed away, and when my husband was sick – you were there for me, always and without hesitation.”
  • “With every outfit we created, I wanted the world to see and feel the warmth of your beautiful spirit.”
  • She recalled the instances Boseman would always make time to give her and her colleague hugs and compliments.
  • “No matter how late we made you for events, you always stopped to hug @saishabeecham and I and say how much you loved and appreciated us before walking out the door,” she wrote.
  • “As you walked out this final door, I wish I could’ve hugged YOU and told YOU how much I loved and appreciated everything you did for me. My big brother. My King. I love you.”
Over the years: Weston has been dressing the actor up in carpets events around the globe for years, including premieres for the hit Marvel film “Black Panther.”
  • Boseman had previously spoken about his professional relationship with Weston in interviews.
  • “You have to have somebody that understands what your style is and what you’re willing to try,” Boseman was quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter. “We found a really, really good synchronicity.”
  • He then went on to praise Weston for her ability to craft a “story” through clothing.
  • “All I have to do is shop. She’ll come with options and I just shop in that space,” he shared.
  • Boseman further mulled about the changes a person goes through, noting: “Everything’s always changing. You can have a sense of what that change is and what the changes are in you, and I think it’s all about knowing who you are at this particular moment.”
