<p><strong>[Update 8-1-2015 1:17 p.m. PST]</strong> It appears that CNN, who was first to report on the incident, may have jumped the gun. According to <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/08/01/us-zimbabwe-wildlife-lion-jericho-idUSKCN0Q63CQ20150801" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reuters</a>, Jericho is alive and well.</p>

<p><strong>Jericho, the brother of Ceil the Lion, was illegally killed on Saturday in Hwange National Park in Zimabwe, according to a report by <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/01/world/cecil-the-lion-brother-jericho-illegally-killed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>.</strong></p>
<p>The lion was gunned down by a hunter operating illegally, according to Johnny Rodrigues, head of the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force.</p>
<p>About two hours ago the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force posted the following on Facebook:</p>
