It’s been a long time coming, but Los Angeles’ first cat cafe is finally almost here.
Crumbs & Whiskers, the first cat cafe in the City of Angels, is set to open next month. The establishment, situated on Melrose Avenue, will be having its grand opening for the public on Sept. 30.
Cat enthusiasts can book 75-minute reservations where they can enjoy coffee, lattes, tea while surrounded with cuddly feline friends.
Approximately 15 to 20 cats from local shelters will be present at the cafe.
Should a visitor fall in love with an adorable cat while at the cafe, they are able to adopt the kitty and call it their own. Crumbs & Whiskers essentially fosters the cats until they are given a nurturing and loving home.
A selection of sweet treats are also available via the company’s partner cafe, Open Space.
Since the Health Department does not permit animal cafes to prepare food and beverages in the same vicinity as animals, runners will fetch the items and deliver them to the cat cafe.
Reservations open on Sept. 21 and cost $22 per person.
However, Crumbs & Whiskers will also be hosting an exclusive pre-opening on Sept. 15 through Sept. 29. VIP passholders and their plus ones are invited to a special furry opening event.
This includes a Kitten Party scheduled for Monday and Cat Yoga that will be taking place the following day. Cat lovers can win VIP passes via social media contests held by the company’s affiliates or wait until Sept. 7 for a limited number of passes to go on sale.
The tickets are priced at $200 and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Karma Rescue, a shelter partner that finds homes for cats that would otherwise be euthanized.
