Dingfu was born with a disability that makes it difficult for him to use his limbs. Due to his unfortunate circumstances, their parents asked the 12-year-old boy to abandon his schooling. However, Dingshuang protested their family’s decision and instead volunteered to carry her brother on her back to school everyday since they both attend the same class.
I will be my bother’s cane forever. I will alaways be with him, take care of him and I will never abandon him,” she said, according to China Daily.

Aside from being his feet, Dingshuang also acts as her brothers hands. She helps him wash his face and put on his clothes for school every morning.

The siblings then have to walk 500 meters (1,640 feet) from their dormitory to their class. Their accommodation was arranged by the school after hearing their difficult condition Liu Yan, a teacher who works in the school they both attend in, told Wenshan Television Station via Daily Mail.

She has to carry her brother on her back as they both cross streets and climb stairs on their way to class. No matter the obstacle is, Dingshuang still commits to her words by taking care of her older brother. She also helps him with his homework after they get home from school.

What’s even more remarkable is how she finds time to take care of other household chores after doing her duties for her brother. Both of their parents are disabled, and she is the only one who can do the chores, which mostly includes washing vegetables, cooking, hand-washing the clothes of her whole family (four) and feeding pigs.
