A man was captured on video yelling profanities at an elderly Chinese restaurant staff in British Columbia after he felt the store took too long to prepare his order.
The incident occurred at Chinese Garden restaurant near Blind Bay, B.C. on August 7, according to a Facebook post by user Amanda Toms via CTV News.
In the 30-second video, the man can be seen seen viciously yelling at the elderly staff of the restaurant. He complained that he placed his order an hour before and the restaurant did not make his food. The elderly staff then tried to hand over a plastic bag of food to the irate man, but he refused.
“I don’t f—ing care anymore! I’ve got to go feed my two-year-old. F— you! If you can’t take orders, tell people you can’t!” he said.
“There are no words to describe how disgusting this behavior is. A delay on food (on a Friday night at dinner time) is no excuse to treat people this way,” the Facebook user wrote in her post. “This restaurant is a local gem and the owners are wonderful people. Be kind, it’s not that f***ing hard.”
After the video went viral, some people reached out to the Salmon Arm Royal Canadian Mounted Police and reported the incident.
“However, after speaking with the complainant and reviewing the video (which was posted online) there does not appear to have been a criminal offence committed,” a spokesperson from the police told CTV News via email.
