Streaming prices for the Seoul leg of BTS member Suga’s “Agust D Tour” have left fans infuriated.
Highly anticipated concert: The event, which will take place over two days on June 24 and 25, is the last leg of the South Korean rapper’s first solo global tour, which began on April 26 in Belmont, New York.
What triggered the backlash: While fans were initially thrilled that the show also offers online viewing options, many were not happy when the option prices were announced.
Based on the official announcement posted on Weverse, a one-day pass costs 59,400 South Korean won (approximately $45.65), while a two-day pass costs 110,000 KRW (approximately $84.54).
Online ticket holders are also limited to viewing the concert during the livestream or a single delayed viewing scheduled for the following week. The video will not be accessible afterwards.
What fans are saying: Fans have since voiced their frustrations toward entertainment company HYBE for the pricing, which is not too far off from that of in-person tickets, which start at around 165,000 KRW (approximately $126.81).
“Wow, crazy. isn’t that the price of an offline performance?” a commenter wrote.
“110,000 KRW for a video? Who the hell will watch it?” lamented another.
“HYBE only knows money,” a fan chimed in.
BTS Global Official Fanclub ARMY members also lamented that they pay the same price as non-members, with the only membership benefit being the ability to watch the concert in 4k resolution instead of high definition.
