South Korean super group BTS has a special collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj in their latest album, and fandoms of the two acts are going crazy over it.
The album “Love Yourself: Answer,” released by the popular K-pop boy band on Friday, includes a digital version of the song “Idol” featuring the rap queen.
At a recent press conference, BTS member RM revealed how they ended up collaborating with Minaj:
“We thought the song would come alive with Nicki Minaj’s rapping, so we sent a request. Nicki Minaj’s side accepted, so it came to be,” the 23-year-old rapper was quoted as saying. “Nicki Minaj is also actively promoting the song on social media. We are thankful that she is promoting it a lot.”
The surprise collab has thrilled the BTS fandom Army and Minaj’s The Barbz, igniting a social media frenzy.

The original music video for “IDOL” was dropped on Friday and has so far racked up over 80 million views as of this writing.
“Love Yourself: Answer” is the fourth and final part of in the “Love Yourself” series by the band which has embarked on a world tour to promote their latest album offering.  
After hitting Seoul last Saturday, the group will continue performing in different cities worldwide, including London and Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Minaj, who also released her fourth studio album “Queen” earlier this month, announced an upcoming music video for her version of “Idol” via a comment on Instagram.
