BTS has made history yet again as the first K-Pop group to present at the Grammys on Sunday.
The group, composed of RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, Suga and V, presented Best R&B Album to H.E.R. for her self-titled album.
“Growing up in South Korea, we always dreamed of being on the Grammy stage,” RM said. “Thank you to all our fans for making this dream come true and we’ll be back.”
Other presenters at the 61st Grammy Awards include previous winners Alessia Cara, John Mayer and Meghan Trainor, as well as actors Nina Dobrev, Anna Kendrick and Jada Pinkett Smith.
BTS’s album “Love Yourself: Tear,” which was art-directed by Doohee Lee, was nominated for Best Recording Package alongside “Be the Cowboy” (Mitski), “Masseduction” (St. Vincent), “The Offering” (The Chairman) and “Well Kept Thing” (Foxhole).
The award ultimately went to “Masseduction,” art-directed by Willo Perron.
Ahead of the show, BTS already turned heads as they appeared on the red carpet in custom tuxedos from South Korean designers JayBaek Couture and Kim Seo Ryong.
“It’s a dream come true,” J-Hope told Ryan Seacrest about their Grammys debut on E!’s Live From the Red Carpet.
When asked how much they appreciate the love they get from ARMYs, BTS responded with gratitude.
“It’s a blessing we can get so much love for doing what we love to do,” Jungkook said. “We are so thankful.”
While BTS missed a Grammy for themselves, their historic presence at the event was all over social media.
Fans congratulated the group on Twitter:
BTS will be in Fukuoka, Japan for the continuation of their “Love Yourself” world tour this weekend.
