Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has been named Asia’s sexiest woman in a recently published list compiled by a London-based newspaper. Eastern Eye recently published its latest “Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women” list based on a popular annual poll voted by millions of international fans, Hindustan Times reported. However, it’s very easy to see that the ethnic scope of the Asian women named, at least in the top 10, seems very narrow despite Asia being rather large and incredibly diverse.
Padukone, an Indian actress known for her acting chops and disarmingly good looks, captured the title for the first time. The top spot of the list has been previously held by actress Priyanka Chopra four times in the past.
“It does bring a smile to my face, but sexy means different things to different people,” Padukone was quoted as saying. “For me, it’s not just physical. Being comfortable with who you are, is sexy. Confidence is sexy. Innocence and vulnerability is sexy.”
