“Bridgerton” star Simone Ashley recently shared spoilers that have left fans “burning” even more for Season 3 of the hit Netflix period drama.
During an interview with British Vogue, the 27-year-old actor, who plays witty and headstrong Kate Sharma, revealed that the series’ upcoming season will explore the honeymoon phase of the relationship between Sharma and her husband Anthony Bridgerton, who is played by Jonathan Bailey.
Compared to the fiery enemies-to-lovers plot in Season 2, Sharma and Bridgerton’s story will take on a lighter tone in Season 3.
”We’re filming a dance this week and tonally, it’s so different – sweet, endearing and light, compared to the heaviness of their story last season,” Ashley told British Vogue.
Ashley also shared that Sharma will inevitably face the demanding responsibilities that come with being a viscountess.
“Even though she comes across as fierce, people like that are sometimes the softest on the inside,” said Ashley, discussing her “Bridgerton” character. “They develop that skin because they’re vulnerable. You see her insecurities and fears. She’s f*cking nervous, and I think there’s strength in admitting that.”
Last month, Ashley declared that Season 3 will live up to all the hype. “Condensation central, it’s going to get super steamy,” she told E! News at the Time 100 Next Gala.
Although the third season of “Bridgerton” is currently in production, Netflix has yet to announce an official release date. According to reports, however, it is likely that the Bridgertons will grace TV screens once more sometime in 2023.
