After driving for about 10 kilometers (6 miles) away from their last stop, a couple in China realized that they were short of one child.
Apparently, they had left their 9-year-old boy behind at a petrol station in Guiding, in southwest China’s Guizhou province after he slipped out of the vehicle to use the bathroom without telling his parents.
A footage of the young boy chasing after his parents’ car has been widely shared on Chinese social media. In the clip, the poor child can be seen trying his best to run after his parents’ car, but is unable to catch up with them.
Chinese media reported that the couple noticed their son was missing after looking back and finding only their daughter in the rear seats.
Fortunately for the young boy, he found a police officer who helped him reunite with his family.
According to the Daily Mail, the boy was left distressed after the incident.
“After we drove for 10 kilometers (6 miles) I turned around and saw that one child was missing,” the boy’s mother was later quoted as saying.
In the end, the boy was returned safely to his parents, who were not charged with any wrongdoing for their error.
