One grandmother has set up a roadside stand selling blow-up sex dolls in order to raise money for her grandson’s leukemia treatment.
The elderly woman, identified by her surname Yang, had the idea to sell the dolls to migrant workers after the family ran out of money to fund the young boy’s medical costs at a local hospital, according to Shanghaiist.
The grandmother from Sichuan, China, disguises herself as a man as part of her sales technique. She even goes so far as to deliver the dolls to customers’ homes herself.
She sells the dolls, or “temporary wives,” for 298 yuan ($47) each. Yang’s family is originally from Sichuan, but the concerned grandmother moved to Langfang, Hebei province, in order to care for her ill grandson. She told NetEase:
“My grandson is so cute, I could not bear to leave him.”
