In celebration of their sixth anniversary, Blackpink gifted their fans, Blinks, with the reveal of their next comeback song’s title: “Pink Venom.”
A post to Instagram shows the title against a black screen with what appear to be pink snake fangs protruding from the top. The post lists the release date for the track as Aug. 19 at 12 a.m. EST and 1 p.m. KST. The announcement is a follow up to their music announcement trailer “Born Pink” last week, which also depicted the same pink fangs.

The girl group also announced the dates for their world tour, which YG Entertainment has called “the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group.” The tour spans seven months across 26 cities announced so far, with more to come. It will start in Seoul in October and take them from America to Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Not much else is known about the forthcoming new song aside from the fact YG Entertainment said the new music video would be their most expensive so far. It’s possible OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder may have also collaborated with the group on the album due out on September 16. YG said the album “implies the identity, which is never ordinary and will exude a fatal aura.” A day later, BLACKPINK posted to Instagram again to reveal the album’s release date of September 16.
Aside from revealing the song title and release date, the Blackpink members each took to social media with memorable photos and grateful messages in honor of their six-year anniversary as a group.
Current “Maplestory” ambassador and oldest member Jisoo wrote, “Happy 6th anniversary! My beloved Blackpink forever!”
Jennie, who is slated to star in the upcoming HBO drama series “The Idol,” wrote, “Its our birthday todayyyyy🎉 Happy 6th year anniversary to Blackpink & Blinks 🖤💖 more good news coming for everyone!”
Youngest member Lisa wrote, “Can’t live without these girls 🌈 Happy BLACKPINK 6th year anniversary💗 This year will be another BIG year for us✨ Love u.”

Thank you for being my members and my family. I am always lacking, but please take good care of me from now on as well. I love you, BLACKPINK!!! To our Blinks who are always by our side and on our team, cheering us on, all I have for you is endless gratitude TT. I am thankful for each and every one of the memories that we made together as BLACKPINK + Blink on this 6th anniversary, which makes me look forward to so many more memories we will make together in the future. YG Entertainment made their first official announcement of the quartet’s comeback last month, teasing that the comeback album will be a part of “a continuous large-scale project which will extend through the second half of the year.”
About a week after that, “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile” announced their first-ever virtual concert with the girl group. The two parties also released a new song and music video “Ready For Love.”

Blackpink’s previous album, 2020’s “The Album,”  was their first full-length one.
