K-pop rookie girl group Babymonster is already preparing to drop a new single next month.
About the single: The new song, titled “Stuck in the Middle,” will arrive on Feb. 1, just a little over two months after Babymonster debuted with “Batter Up.” The single will reportedly stray off label YG Entertainment’s signature hip-hop style.
“Whenever I listen to this song, I close my eyes. It feels like being in a state of zero gravity in outer space,” YG Entertainment founder and chief producer Yang Hyun-suk said in a video announcement Monday, adding that the song can be described as “beautiful.”

Like a father: Yang said he feels like a father to Babymonster, whose youngest member, Chiquita, is aged 14. He shared that his daughter is only a year younger.
“In cases like 2NE1 or Blackpink, except for a few members, they debuted in their 20s…it was like treating them as junior artists,” Yang said. “But with Babymonster…I find myself caring for them as if they were my own daughters.”
About Ahyeon: Babymonster was originally set to debut with seven members. South Korean member Ahyeon left the group due to health reasons.
Yang said he will provide an update when available. “It’s still uncertain when Ahyeon will join, so I will inform you publicly in due course,” he said.

Breaking records: Babymonster, which consists of Asa, Chiquita, Pharita, Rami, Rora and Ruka, broke YouTube records after drawing 22.59 million views for “Batter Up” in the first 24 hours. After 18 days, the music video surpassed the 100 million views milestone.
