Pinkfong’s viral educational children song “Baby Shark” is now the most-watched YouTube video of all time after taking over three-year reigning champ “Despacito.”
It was unclear when “Baby Shark” broke the record, but The Verge reported the viral song only had 2.5 billion views in April 2020.

As of this moment, “Baby Shark” has 7.06 billion views, while “Despacito,” a song made by Puerto Rican singers Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee, is at 7.04 billion views.

“Baby Shark” was first released on June 17, 2016, as part of Pinkfong’s “Sing and Dance!” songs for children. It became a viral hit after Indonesian social media users started posting videos of themselves dancing to the catchy tune in 2017, giving birth to the “Baby Shark Challenge.”
Earlier this year, Pinkfong released a song that encourages personal hygiene amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The other songs/videos on the list are:
  • Ed Sheeran — “Shape of You” with 5.05 billion views.
