Aziz Ansari Accused of Sexual AssaultAziz Ansari Accused of Sexual Assault
Master Of None star Aziz Ansari has now found himself embroiled in a controversy after a woman who claims she went on a date with him last year accused him of sexual misconduct.
In a tell-all interview with Babe, a female photographer from Brooklyn referred to as Grace, narrated a reportedly harrowing date with Ansari in September 2017, which she described as “by far the worst experience with a man I’ve ever had”.
In her account, she alleged that the comedian had asked for her phone number after meeting him at the 2017 Emmys afterparty. They then exchanged messages for a week before arranging to meet again for a date, which, she claimed to have ended with her crying on an Uber ride home.

Grace recalled that during their dinner together, she felt like Ansari was eager for them to leave. “He got the cheque and then it was bada-boom, bada-bing, we’re out of there,” she was quoted as saying.
According to Grace, they soon got back to the actor’s apartment, where they started kissing.
“In a second, his hand was on my breast,” she said, adding that the recent Golden Globe winner said he was going to get a condom just minutes of their first kiss.
Grace further alleged that Ansari persisted in attempting to have sex with her and repeatedly stuck his fingers down her throat before performing a sex act on her.
She said she tried to communicate to Ansari through verbal and non-verbal means that he was already making her uncomfortable.
“Most of my discomfort was expressed in me pulling away and mumbling. I know that my hand stopped moving at some points,” she said. “I stopped moving my lips and turned cold.”
During the ordeal, she said Ansari had repeatedly asked her: “Where do you want me to f**k you?” and continuously been motioning her to do a sex act on him.
It finally came to a point when she actually spoke up and told him that she didn’t “want to feel forced”.
Ansari then toned down for a bit and suggested that they just “chill” on the couch. What Grace thought would be a time for Ansari to lay off the aggressive vibe turned out to be false as he would soon instruct her to turn around.
“He sat back and pointed to his penis and motioned for me to go down on him. And I did. I think I just felt really pressured. It was literally the most unexpected thing I thought would happen at that moment because I told him I was uncomfortable.”
After that, he reportedly took her around the apartment until they came upon a large mirror, where she bent her over and asked her again, “Where do you want me to fuck you? Do you want me to fuck you right here?”
It was then when Grace stood up and said: “No, I don’t think I’m ready to do this, I really don’t think I’m going to do this.” To this, Ansari responded with: “How about we just chill, but this time with our clothes on?”
Soon they were fully clothed and sitting on the couch. Grace said that it was the moment when they were watching television, where “it really hit me that I was violated”.
After a few more sexual advances from the comedian, Grace finally was able to summon an Uber ride home. She remembered feeling “groggy and miserable” the next day. She revealed that she told some of her friends about the experience.
That evening Grace received a text message from Ansari saying it was “fun” meeting her.

This is the text Grace* sent Aziz Ansari after their date which left her feeling “violated”. She tells Ansari how uncomfortable he made her feel, saying “you ignored clear non-verbal cues” and “kept going with advances.”

Grace responded with: “Last night might’ve been fun for you, but it wasn’t for me. You ignored clear non-verbal clues; you kept going with advances.”
Ansari then responded with an apology. “I’m so sad to hear this. Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I’m truly sorry.”
Babe, which inspected the phone number Grace was texting to, said it matched Ansari’s details in a public register. Ansari, who has had a reputation for being a guy who respects women, reportedly shocked Grace by his actions.
In fact, Ansari has been a vocal supporter of the #TimesUp movement, a group which aims to eliminate sexual misconduct. He also incorporates issues of race and sexual consent in his work, both in stand-up or sitcom.
Grace said she almost forgot the incident until she saw him win a Best Actor award at the 2018 Golden Globes and memories of the alleged incident suddenly came back.
Ansari has yet to respond to the accusations.
