Nickelodeon has announced that Asian Canadian actor Ava Ro will star in its upcoming musical comedy series “Erin & Aaron” alongside Jensen Gering.

Best known for her role as Ella in the TVOKids series “Big Top Academy,” the teen actor will play Erin, step-sibling to Gering’s Aaron.

The musical sitcom will see the pair adjust to their new lives following their parents’ marriage. It will notably feature original songs and performances. Larisa Oleynik, Pyper Braun and “Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.” actor David S. Jung also join the cast in supporting roles.

Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, co-heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action, called “Erin & Aaron,” which was created by “The Thundermans” producer and writer Dicky Murphy, “our next great buddy comedy.”

The first two episodes of “Erin & Aaron” will premiere on April 20, with the remaining episodes released weekly on Nickelodeon on Thursdays.
