Aspiring K-pop Stars Enroll in ‘Idol School’ For a Shot at Fame

Class is now in session for aspiring K-pop stars in a recently launched South Korean reality television series which provides a unique take on creating the ultimate K-pop girl group.
The show, “Idol School”, gives viewers an interesting behind-the-scenes look on how 41 talented aspirants eventually become part of a new batch of K-pop idols. With a “school” theme, “students” as young as 12 compete for super stardom, showcasing their skills in singing and dancing in their school uniform.
The new show by entertainment firm Mnet became an instant hit when it made its debut on local South Korean television just a couple of weeks ago, reports SoraNews24.
Throughout the season, fans and viewers are offered a backstage pass on the inner workings of the K-pop group creation.
The set-up for the program also makes for some compelling TV drama as participants from Korea, the U.S., Singapore, Thailand Taiwan, the Philippines, and the U.K try their best in each episode to survive a brutal elimination process.
Dreams will be crushed and hearts will be broken when the show begins trimming down the group of 41 contestants into the final nine who will be chosen to be part of a new K-pop girl group.
Making up the school’s faculty members include Veteran idol Kim Hee Chul from Super Junior and other industry veterans in the form of prominent K-pop producers, choreographers, voice instructors, and celebrity fitness instructors.
