Home Invaders in Queens Steal Nearly $10,000 from Asian Family After Raping One of the Women

A 34-year-old woman from an Asian household in Queens, New York was raped by two men during a home invasion robbery on Saturday night.

The unnamed victim, who lives near 251st Ave. and 57th Ave. in Little Neck, was reportedly leaving her home shortly after 9 p.m. when two men suddenly forced their way inside. One of the men was reportedly wearing a black ski mask and armed with a gun, reports the NY Daily News.

According to the police reports, the intruders locked the victim’s 54-year-old mother and six other women, which included a nanny and at least one child, into a bedroom.

They then took the victim to check each room upstairs looking for money. After she gave up over $1,000, the masked gunman proceeded to rape her. During the terrible ordeal, another $800 was taken from the victim’s mother.

After the men demanded more money, the victim handed over $8,000 in cash that was stored in a night table in one of the bedrooms.

A third man who acted as a lookout then went into the house and the three men left shortly after. The trio fled the scene in a light-colored sedan and a light-colored Mercedes. The rape victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim’s neighbor, Hanna Choi, told reporters that the family owns a Japanese restaurant in Long Island City. She noted that they would often leave their door open in fair weather.

“This area is mostly housed with Asian owners, so maybe they’re targeting people that they think have money,” Choi was quoted as saying. “This is a really serious thing.”

In a bid to identify and track down the suspects, the local authorities released surveillance photos of the cars on Monday, along with a video showing the men entering the home. In the clip, the masked invader can be seen waving a gun.

Based on the description released by the police, the gunman wore a black ski mask, black jacket, and blue latex gloves. The second attacker was described as an African American male, roughly 6-feet tall, and was wearing a black Adidas jacket, a hoodie, blue jeans, and tan work boots. He was also carrying a red bag and black duffel bag. The accomplice was also described to be an African American male, roughly 6-feet tall, who was wearing a black jacket with a hood, dark blue jeans, and black sneakers.
