Ash Ketchum Is No Longer The Kid We Once Knew

For those who grew up watching “Pokémon”, Ash Ketchum is remembered as that innocent 10-year-old kid busy trying to become a Pokémon master.

While the show has to stay innocent since its target audience is young, one of the biggest fan questions is why Ash never seems to show any interest in the opposite sex (or the same sex!). Other anime shows targeting the same demographic have had hints of crushes and romance while “Pokémon” has not for the last 20 years.

But all that has changed in “Pokémon’s” latest episode, where one of Ash’s travel companions, Serena, kisses him.

After the scene, netizens voiced their reactions online. Here’s are a few compiled by RocketNews24:

“OH MY GOD FINALLY!”

“I’ve been waiting 20 years for this….”

“Maybe it’s just me but Ash’s reaction is like ‘enh, whatever.’”

“Clemont and Bonnie’s reactions are priceless.”

“Man, Serena must’ve really wanted that kiss to run back up the escalator!”

Atta boy Ash. Atta boy.
