Teen Pakistani Tea Vendor Lands Modeling Contract After Breaking the Internet

Arshad Khan, a tea vendor, also known as a chaiwala, from Islamabad who caught the internet by storm after his photo went viral, is now officially a model for an online shopping store in Pakistan.
An image of the 18-year old chaiwala taken by a photographer was posted online and immediately went viral, earning him admiration and love from netizens.
Photographer Jiah Ali came across the blue-eyed Pakistani teenager while he was working at the Sunday Bazaar and thought he needed to share Khan’s good looks with the rest of the world.
Khan was soon all over social media and at one point even became a trending topic on Twitter via the hashtag #ChaiWala.
According to the Tribune, Khan has been working at the tea stall for three months now. He was quoted as saying, “I have been told I have beautiful eyes by many girls but nothing ever happened. Since my picture has gone viral, I realise that I am famous now.”
Khan, who works to help support his parents and 17 siblings, told Dunya News how ecstatic he was with his overnight popularity. He revealed however, that he is just a bit bothered since people have started flocking around him for pictures during his working hours.
Things soon turned out for the better for the new heartthrob just a few days after his photos went viral with Khan landing a modeling sponsorship with Fitin.pk, an online shopping store based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Chai wala is not more chai wala now he is fashion wala!“, said Fitin on a post announcing Khan’s new career as the store’s model.
“Many news channels have contacted him for interview. We are launching our full version after the successful beta launch and Arshad #chai wala will be working for fitin as a model,” the company confirmed.
