Three armed robbery suspects messed with the wrong Chinese food delivery driver, who opened fire at the group after he was ambushed while doing his job in Florida.
The victim, a delivery driver working at Hot Wok in Jacksonville, told police that he was delivering an order on W. Arancio Drive on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when two men answered the door carrying a gun, Action News Jax reported.
Two men, who he described as being in their early 20s, pointed a green laser coming from a barrel on a black semi-automatic pistol at his face, he told police.
The men told the driver a few times to enter the house, but when he tried to make a run for it, a third man holding a gun approached him.
The delivery guy told police that he chucked the food at the third suspect, backed away and took out a gun from a holster on his waist.
He opened fire at the suspects about 5 times before yelling for neighbors to call 911.
According to police, the delivery driver held one suspect at gunpoint until police arrived at the scene.
Shortly afterward, one of the other suspects called and reported he had been shot at a different location, and was arrested in connection with the attempted robbery.
Officers are looking for the third suspect, who is still at large.
The home where the attempted robbery occurred is apparently up for sale and nobody has been living in it for months, according to neighbors.
A man named Juan and his friends were a few houses down when they saw the driver go past them to the other end of the street.
It was a short time later they heard the gunfire, which Juan described as “just pop, pop, pop, pop, pop … pretty much almost like firecrackers.”
