Ariana Grande Under Fire For Being Rude in South Korea After First Concert
By Kyle Encina
Ariana Grande was set to perform at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea on August 14 as part of her “Dangerous Woman” tour, but left fans with a sour taste following the concert’s conclusion.
According to Allkpop, fans are criticizing the 24-year-old pop star for her “rude” and “unprofessional” behavior. Grande agitated her restless fans after arriving late at the concert venue.
However, the pop star explained that she delayed her arrival on purpose in order to avoid the press and media outlets. While Grande had an explanation for her late arrival, this is only the first of the singer’s string of disappointing actions over the course of the concert.
Fans who spent 650,000 won ($572) for VIP tickets requested refunds since they weren’t able to see the singer’s originally planned rehearsals. Furthermore, Grande posted a video on Instagram showing her vocalizing and singing gleefully in front of a bathroom mirror.
Fans assumed that this was a video of her rehearsal and felt that they were being shortchanged. The 24-year-old allegedly shortened and delayed her meet-and-greet session as well.
Fans were also not amused by Grande immediately leaving South Korea after the concert, while she stayed in Japan for days following her performance in Chiba. Some angry fans expressed their frustration saying, “She deceived Korean fans, so disappointed,” “Korea was just a pit stop for her” and “She’s looking down on the Korean fans” among others.
Grande’s arrival was reportedly intentionally hidden from the public due to fear of possible terrorist activity. However, the event’s promoter denied these rumors stating that the secrecy of the singer’s arrival was based on her personal request, according to The Star.
Of course, other fans still showed their support for the 24-year-old pop diva regardless of her behavior.
