Canadian Hotel Staff Returns Lost Stuffed Animal in the Most Heartwarming Way Possible

This heartwarming story proves Canadians really are the nicest people.

This heartwarming story proves Canadians really are the nicest people.
During her visit to Canada, Annelies Vredeveldt, a legal psychologist from the Netherlands, brought her stuffed plush puppy, Boris, with her. She usually brings Boris wherever she goes.
Annelies got Boris a few years ago when she joined the Dutch Animal Protection Society. She told Buzzfeed Canada that since then:
“I always bring him when I’m traveling.
“I find it difficult to fall asleep without him!”
On a recent business trip to Canada, Boris went missing at the hotel where Annelies was staying. She says she “turned [her] room upside down” searching for the lost puppy.
She promptly reported the missing plush animal to the hotel, but none of the housekeeping staff had seen Boris either. Sad and heartbroken, Annelies departed on her flight back to the Netherlands and accepted the fact that she would never see her beloved stuffed animal again.
Two weeks later, Annelies found an unexpected package at her doorstep with a letter from the Empress hotel in Victoria.
The letter read:
“Dear Dr. Vredeveldt,
I wanted to once again apologize for the delay in finding your stuffed dog. We ensured that he enjoyed Canada Day here at the Empress in Victoria and all the staff enjoyed having him on our country’s special day.”
Not only did they find Boris and mail him to the Netherlands, but the entire housekeeping staff also documented Boris’s adventures in Canada in a photo diary.
Annelies commented on finding the surprise package:
“When I opened [the package] a whole bunch of photos fell out.”
The hotel staff took Boris out sight seeing in Canada.
The hotel staff made sure that Boris was included in the festivities on Canada Day.
“My fiance and I looked at the photos and just started laughing.
“We thought it was so funny and so sweet.”
Annelies is glad to have Boris back and thankful for the hotel staff’s kindness in returning him.
She posted the photos on Imgur with the caption “My God I love Canadians.”

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
