Disney has done quite a good job making sure the new Star Wars movies have a relatively diverse cast. The upcoming film “Rogue One“, which is set for release later this year, stars Asian superstar Donnie Yen as a Jedi Master along with other Asian cast members.
Such inclusions will certainly make Asian fans of Star Wars happy, but what if we had more heroes of Asian descent in the Star Wars universe? Now, thanks to a newly released Star Wars fan film, we can continue to let our imaginations run wild.
The film “Hoshino”, directed by Stephen Vitale, stars actor Anna Akana who plays a blind Jedi master who recounts her younger years training with her master. The film follows the story of how she became blind and eventually one with the force. It’s certainly an excellent film to watch and will leave viewers begging for more.

Everything you see today is built on the backs of warriors who have sacrificed opportunities to help give Asians all over the world a bigger voice.
However, we still face many trials and tribulations in our industry, from figuring out the most sustainable business model for independent media companies to facing the current COVID-19 pandemic decimating advertising revenues across the board.
We hope you consider making a contribution so we can continue to provide you with quality content that informs, educates and inspires the Asian community. Even a $1 contribution goes a long way. Thank you for everyone's support. We love you all and can't appreciate you guys enough.
