Presidential hopeful Andrew Yang has been gaining a growing list of prominent supporters and donors.
The 44-year-old tech entrepreneur, who is running for president of the United States as a Democrat in 2020, has been sharing details of his high-profile supporters on social media.
On Tuesday, Yang thanked Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey for donating to his campaign.
“Thank you @jack for the support! I use at least one of your products every day,” Yang wrote in a tweet
Last month, Yang also shared that actor Nicolas Cage had just donated to his campaign.
“I think Nicolas Cage may have donated to my campaign. It is done,” Yang tweeted.
Along with Dorsey and Cage, Yang’s list of popular supporters includes Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, Weezer lead vocalist Rivers Cuomo, tech entrepreneur Sam Altman, and Netflix star Noah Centineo.
“I will put our celebrity donor list of Nicolas Cage, Rivers Cuomo, Noah Centineo and Sam Altman up against anyone’s,” Yang tweeted, bragging about his famous donors on Tuesday.
While previously a relatively unknown member in politics, Yang has been tirelessly doing media appearances to bolster his popularity and pull off some headway in the lead-up to the 2020 elections.
Fueled mainly by online supporters, Yang’s campaign has reportedly raked in nearly $2 million in fundraising for the first quarter of reporting while polling at 3% in the latest Emerson poll released Monday.
