Andrew Yang Now Has an ‘Anime Opening’ and It’s Fire AF
By Carl Samson
What if Andrew Yang had an anime opening?
YouTube user Andrew Nguyen, a “progressive” Canadian with an interest in American politics and anime, decided to answer just that.
In a video posted over the weekend, Nguyen compiled clips from the Democratic presidential candidate’s speeches and interviews to create a montage held together by an upbeat anime track.
The video, which lasts for nearly two minutes, uses the song “Again” by Japanese pop-rock singer-songwriter Yui, which served as the opening track for the first season of the 2009 anime series “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.”
Aside from Yang’s public appearances, Nguyen’s video features cutscenes of other Democratic presidential candidates, including (in order) Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Kamala Harris, former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The brief cameos highlighting Nguyen’s editing skills end with President Donald Trump seemingly twitching during a speech.
The video, which has raked over 1,300 views, received few mixed comments.
