A woman recently went viral for sharing her lifelong love of rice and excitement after buying her first 50-pound sack of it.
“My entire life my favorite food has just been like white rice,” rice-fanatic Adrien said in a video that has gone viral since she first uploaded it to her TikTok account on Dec. 29. “I love it. I can’t get enough of it. It’s my favorite thing ever.”
The 26-year-old from Minneapolis explained that while rice is not new to many Asian households, she never experienced buying a big sack of rice while growing up with her white American family.
Due to her love for the food, she was given a rice dispenser on Christmas and recently decided to purchase a 50-pound sack of rice at an Asian grocery store for herself.
“My entire adult life I’ve just been buying one pound of rice once or twice a week until today,” Adrien said. “I’m so giddy about how much rice I have!”
Adrien also went on to show viewers how she washes and cooks her rice. In the video, she can be seen topping off her cooked white rice with some stir-fried bok choy, fried eggs, green onions and rice seasoning.
The video has garnered over 1.2 million views, as of this writing, and many viewers have marveled at Adrien’s reaction to rice.
“I’ve never seen a person be so happy about rice 😂,” one user commented.
“She has the best kind of energy 🧡,” another user wrote.
“She’s white and [has] a rice cooker! I’m shook!,” one said.
“She is so cute 😂😍,” another user shared. “So excited because of rice, too sweet omg 😍.”
Adrien’s love for rice is also evident on her Instagram page, where she posted a photo of her and her new 50-pound bag of rice on the same day she uploaded her viral video.
