Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for “Citadel,” a high-budget spy series starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden.

Created by the Russo Brothers, the “Citadel” franchise will notably be launching international spin-offs with Indian, Mexican and Italian iterations already underway.

“Citadel”‘s first season, which will consist of six episodes and premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, had a budget of $185 million, according to Variety.

Chopra Jonas, 40, and Madden, 36, play Nadia Sinh and Mason Kane, two former members of an independent spy agency called Citadel which was destroyed by a crime syndicate known as Manticore. Nadia and Mason forget about their time at Citadel and live new lives with new identities until their former colleague Bernard, played by Stanley Tucci, recruits them back into the spy world.

“The new personalities come in conflict with their old personalities,” Joe Russo said during a press conference last month. “That was the idea that I think most excited us, because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that before, where you have multiple characters dealing with a crisis of personality and a crisis of conscience.”

Chopra Jonas added, “The show is completely non-linear. We had to remind each other of the story. It was like a big jigsaw to remember.”

Aside from “Citadel,” the renowned Bollywood star is attached to produce and possibly star in “Assume Nothing,” another Amazon Studios project.
