Actress Liu Yifei, who was cast as the lead in the live-action remake of Disney’s “Mulan,” and South Korean actor Song Seung-heon have reportedly called it quits.
Liu Yifei, 30, and Song Seung-heon, 41, first met on the set of the Korean-Chinese movie “The Third Way of Love” back in 2015, and the two began dating and announced their relationship to the public in the same year.
According to Chinese media outlet insiders, Liu Yifei’s side has “already determined that the two have broken up,” but they are taking their time to organize their feelings considering that they have been together for a long time, AllKpop reported.
On Jan. 25, the actor’s camp echoed the same sentiments, and further confirmed that the couple have officially broken up.
It’s true that they broke up. Because it’s their personal life, we cannot know the exact reason,” the 41-year-old actor’s label said in a statement via Soompi. “Song Seung Heon consistently had projects, and Liu Yi Fei has been very busy, too. They naturally grew apart due to their busy schedules. They did not break up because of THAAD.”
Song Seung-heon’s label’s statement seems to go in line with Liu Yifei’s current work as the filming for the live-action remake of “Mulan” has reportedly begun this month.
The same can also be said for the actor. He appeared in two television series in 2017 — the fantasy-thriller show “Black”, and the historical, fantasy drama “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors”.
