Singer Aaron Carter is under fire for a video he posted showing himself ordering Chinese takeout through the phone while mocking a Chinese accent.
In his Instagram post on Dec. 10, the 32-year-old singer said he was showing his friends his “cultural status” while ordering food, Fox News reported.
“When your friends can’t order Chinese food chicken in NYC AND you have to SHOW THEM YOURE cultural status,” he wrote, adding a hashtag #satire in the caption.
Social media users quickly called Carter out on his behavior, while one user said the singer “needs help. Serious help.”
However, Carter did not acknowledge the comment in his reply and instead responded with, “you need some extra duck sauce.”
Carter has had some trouble with his family, mainly his sister Angel and brother Nick, in the past. He also announced in late November that he would take a break from social media to give some time for himself.
Taking a break from all social media and some time for myself. There’s been a lot of stressors building up and I’m going to be 32 soon. I have shows coming up. Never miss them. And bills to pay. Lol LOVE YOU ALL!! See you on the road. No more social media nonsense for me. #LMG 🧩
