Mark “Mayor” Farese, who was featured in a Forbes profile recently, owns well over 3,000 pairs of sneakers that are worth an estimated $750,000. Farese, who refers to himself as a “sneaker wearer” rather than as a sneaker collector, grew up in the south Bronx without the money to afford a fancy pair of kicks. After he became the laughing stock of the block for sporting shoes with his own name on them as a kid, he was determined to one day own all the best sneakers in the world.
Farese has since turned his passion into a profession as a brand ambassador and host at sneaker trade shows. The most expensive shoes he possesses right now are the Undefeated x Jordan IV, worth about $25,000.
