Cuddling with baby pandas all day is, without a doubt, one of the best jobs any human can have in the world. It turns out, that job also pays a reasonable amount, plus free food and a place to stay.
In 2014, the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Ya’an put up a job posting throughout China to recruit the best panda caretaker in the land — which pretty much went to the lucky lady in the video above.
The job pays 200,000 yuan, or about $32,000, and applicants receive free meals and accommodation but must have an SUV. Applicants must also be at least 22 years old, have good writing skills, basic knowledge of pandas and be able to take pictures, according to China Daily. According to the center’s organizers:
“Your work has only one mission: spending 365 days with the pandas and sharing in their joys and sorrows.
“Many people at our center do the same job, but the salary was never that high. But we want more people to pay attention to giant pandas’ protection work and participate.”
Unfortunately for the rest of the world, it’s unlikely a new position will open up any time soon because seriously, who would ever give up a job like that?
