Four Singaporean men were detained in Taiwan for allegedly raping two local women they met online.
The crime appears to have occurred at a Datong District apartment rented by the tourists, who spent Sunday night with the women, The Straits Times reported.
Authorities captured the suspects at Ximenting on Tuesday afternoon as they were about to leave for Singapore.
The men, surnamed Lau, Lim, Ong and Tan, all reportedly in their early 20s, took advantage of the ladies after drinking and talking at a club.
Allegedly, three of the men raped both ladies, while the fourth man was said to have not participated in the hideous act.
The men claimed the sexual acts were consensual.
According to ETtoday (via the Straits Times), the ladies left the apartment around 4 a.m. the following day.
The fourth man has been released on bail worth TWD $15,000 ($470), while the other three remain in police custody.
