$1 Million Chinese Luxury RV is Proof That China is Getting Super Bougie

You can now travel and explore all of China, literally, inside the comfort of a luxurious home that’s being called “China’s largest RV”.
Unveiled recently in Sanya, a city on the southern end of China’s Hainan Island, the 14-meter-long mobile home has all the necessities, and more, to live comfortably on the road.
It has a master bed, some bunk beds, a mini “cinema,” fancy furniture, a bathroom and an elegant living room space decked with a mirror on its high ceiling. It even has satellite communications to keep you connected in the most remote parts of the country, according to NetEase (via Shanghaiist).
Of course, this massive condo-on-wheels does not come cheap. Priced at around 8 million yuan ($1.16 million), the vehicle has a potential clientele in either wealthy individual owners or travel and tour firms.
China’s RV market, while still in its infancy, has been gaining popularity in the last few years with the growth of the camper and RV road trip industry. There has been a significant increase in the number of Chinese who prefer taking recreational vehicles when traveling to tourist spots, according to industry insiders.
China Tourism Automobile and Cruise Association secretary-general Liu Hanqi stated that 61% of 3.6 billion trips made by Chinese tourists in 2014 alone have been self-drive trips.
“An increasing number of self-drive travelers have chosen recreational vehicles,” Liu told ECNS back in 2015. “The industry will surely have a bright future, and we need to cultivate this new leisure and camping culture.”
