An Asian senior succumbed to her injuries after being pushed to the ground by an unknown woman in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood on Monday.
The attack: The victim was walking in the area of 3rd Street and Egbert Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. when the suspect pushed her from behind, according to witnesses. Auto mechanic Braulio Reyes said he did not see the actual push, but he heard the suspect yell at the victim.
“She was not responsive but she had a pulse, her pulse was low,” Reyes told ABC7’s Dion Lim in an interview. He said the victim’s husband did not know what to do, so he called 911.
What happened after: The victim, who suffered a head injury, died at the hospital two days later. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office subsequently identified her as 63-year-old Yanfang Wu.
“It was heartbreaking. I thought she was going to live,” Reyes told Lim.
Suspect wanted: As of this writing, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call the San Francisco Police Department’s tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text TIP411, starting the text message with “SFPD.”
