‘Power Rangers’ Star Ludi Lin Joins Cast of ‘Aquaman’

Actor Ludi Lin has been tapped to play the role of Murk in Warner Bros’ highly anticipated DC superhero film “Aquaman”.
The Chinese-Canadian actor, who recently played the Black Ranger Zack in the 2017 “Power Rangers” reboot, will star alongside Jason Momoa who plays the titular brawny superhero, Deadline reports.
In the DC comic book lore, Murk is known as a trusted ally of Aquaman. He also heads the front-line army of Atlantis known as the Men-of-War.
Lin’s casting in the seventh installment of the DC Comics’ Extended Universe marks his first major role since the Power Rangers film.

The film also cast Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Aquaman’s half-brother Orm, Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother and Atlantis princess Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Aquaman’s mentor Vulko, while Dolph Lundgren plays arch-enemy King Nereus and Yahya Abdul-Mateen as the supervillain Black Manta.
Director James Wan will be at the helm of the production which is slated to be released on December 21, 2018, two months later than originally planned by WB.
Lin, who emigrated to Canada after high school, studied Theatre Performance at the University of British Columbia. Ludi also later studied in Film and TV acting in Los Angeles. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and further studies in Medicine. Lin currently resides in Beijing.
