Health Blogger Thinks Adding Chopsticks to Sliced Banana Makes it Sushi
By Max Chang
As a sushi lover myself, I was excited when I heard there was a new type of sushi in town. Then, suddenly, I was so very disappointed.
Fit Foodie Finds, a blog site that focuses on healthy eating recently put out a video teaching it’s viewers how to make “banana sushi.”
Now, before we start watching, here’s the first line of the Wikipedia entry for Sushi.
“Sushi (すし, 寿司, 鮨?) is a type of food preparation originating in Japan, consisting of cooked vinegared rice (鮨飯sushi-meshi) combined with other ingredients (ネタ neta) such as seafood, meat, vegetables and sometimes tropical fruits.”
I began to watch the video:
…
… uh …
……………
Um … hold on–
There’s absolutely NOTHING in this recipe that puts it even in the same galaxy as sushi. LIKE, NOTHING!!!!!!
Oh wait, maybe it’s the chopsticks in the end that’s supposed to fool me, because eating anything with chopsticks automatically makes the dish “Asian”, right??
What especially irks me is that there’s absolutely ZERO point in making this dish “Asian”. It’s just frozen bananas topped with shit hipsters like to eat.
Try again, please.
