President Donald Trump recently mocked the South Korean movie “Parasite” for its historic Best Picture win at the Oscars during his political rally in Colorado.
In his speech, the 73-year-old businessman-turned-president took jabs at the 92nd Academy Awards, particularly for giving Best Picture to “Parasite,” which was directed by Bong Joon-ho, according to Variety.

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year?” Trump asked the crowd. “Did you see it? The winner is… a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about?”
He went on to suggest that “Gone With The Wind,” a movie that was deemed racist and highly offensive, should be brought back.
“We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give them best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know,” Trump said. “Let’s get ‘Gone With the Wind.’ Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?”
“So many great movies…” he continued. “The winner is from South Korea! I thought it was Best Foreign Film, right? Best foreign movie. Did this ever happen before?”
“Parasite” cemented its name in history during the 92nd Academy Awards. The movie earned six Oscar nominations and won four of them, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature.
NEON, the film’s distributor, replied to Trump, tweeting it is “understandable” why he would say such things because “he can’t read,” referring to the subtitles.
