This Psychologist Has an Easy Way For Stress Relief and All You Need is Your Hand

Are you tired, run down, listless? Do you poop out at parties? Are you unpopular? The answer to all your problems is in this little temporal tap.

According to clinical psychologist and author Susan Heitler, a temporal tap is a quick and easy technique you can use to positively influence your thoughts, feelings and actions. Like any credible person with a Ph.D., Heitler explains that while temporal tapping is centuries old and has worked on her patients, she can’t make any promises and has no research to validify the method’s effectiveness.

However, Heitler makes the point that the method will take less than 30 seconds and is worth the try to alleviate any negative feelings you may be experiencing in the moment.

Heitler only has two rules for the choice of message used in the temporal tapping:

“1. The statement must be in the present tense. Instead of “I will feel …” which would be future tense, use “I am” or “I feel… .”
2. The statement must be phrased in the positive, with zero not’s or but’s.”

The good doctor hypothesizes that temporal tapping’s underlying mechanism is similar to that of post-hypnotic suggestion, which is when a hypnotist plants an idea for subsequent action before you wake up from your trance. For temporal tapping, however, there will be no clucking like a chicken while naked. Unless that’s what you want. In which case, I suggest you try a combination of coke and booze. Unlike lil fancy-pants miss psychologist, I’ve done plenty of research and can guarantee that coke and booze are the cure for anything and everything.
