• Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu threw out the first pitch of the Seattle Mariners baseball game against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.
• During the ceremonial pitch, Yu wore a Seattle Mariners shirt emblazoned with the name “Ichiro,” after the legendary Japanese baseball star Ichiro Suzuki.
• In 2014, Yu became the first Asian, first Latina and first openly gay justice to be appointed to the Washington State Supreme Court.

Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu donned a special uniform and threw the first pitch of a Seattle Mariners baseball game against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.

Yu, who is an avid Seattle Mariners fan, was asked to do the ceremonial pitch at T-Mobile Park in Seattle in honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
