The fire emerged on the second floor of the three-story An Phu karaoke bar near Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday night, killing 17 men and 15 women, according to the Binh Duong provincial police.

On Monday, the first commercial nonstop flight from Vietnam to the United States was successfully completed by flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The first: The flight, which had 30 passengers consisting mostly of Vietnamese Americans aboard a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, “marked a new milestone for Vietnam Airlines in particular and Vietnam’s aviation in general,” said Vietnam Airlines President Le Hong Ha, according to VNExpress.
